- not in original package- totally useless - the ball-joints are too loose and can't hold my DSLR camera (about 1.5kg 60D + 15-85IS)- i can't use it on my 1.5KG camera (but the description is "Designed for digital cameras weighing up to 3000 grams (manufacturer rated)"), so my camera is 1.5KG = 1500g = 1/2 from 3000G but it is too heavy- i can't return the item (not worth the price) and i can't use it... so i just burning money, but that's life- i'm not satisfied with this purchase
Overall:
I still can use it for my compact camera, which is with low weight (Canon A490IS), but i had other small tripos for it... so this will probably be useless.I buy it for DSLR, but that's it... i probably will do a video to demonstrate how loose are joint balls and etc. (see the video files - i will post is soon)

I bought this item to have more flexibility; my old twist-to-open travel tripod only works on flat surfaces. This one can obviously be adapted to various situations - I hadn't really considered the possibilities this thing offers as you can wrap it around all sorts of items.
Cons:
It's a bit bigger than I expected, which may be a problem for those of you who want to carry it about. I hadn't really put too much thought into this before ordering - my Canon SX120 looks tiny sitting on top of this thing. Superzoom users may want to consider a smaller version. However, the size probably is an advantage when positioning the tripod, so this is not really a problem.
Overall:
This seems like pretty good value for money. I don't know how much these things cost locally, but the DE price can't be bad. I may have been lucky (as some other reviewers were nowhere near as enthusiastic as me), but this tripod is a big hit with me.

I bought this for my Pentax k-x and it fits and works perfectly. Grips everywhere I want to. I guess it's best alternative for other similar products. And cheap also.
Cons:
Some joints are a bit weak if you push them somewhere too hard.Screwing place looks cheaply made, so I guess it might brake after some time. It didn't happen to me after few months of usage, but I guess it will soon.Feels a bit cheap, but for that money it's better than I expected.
Overall:
Generally if you need product like this, it's really good one for the price, just don't hang it anywhere for long time without watching it. Your camera is much more expensive.

It's cheap and generally well build it would be a great bargain but there must have be a change since the last reviews here on Dealextreme because my ball-joints are totally loose and makes the whole thing useless.
Cons:
I read some User-Reviews that the ball-joints are rather tight or maybe too tight at all. But my ball-joints are totally use and therefore makes the whole thing totally useless it wouldn't even hold the smallest compact-camera.
Overall:
With tight ball-joints great! With loosen one (like mine) totally useless!!

Sturdy.Holds my Canon EOS 450D camera even with heavy lenses.Can be used almost everywhere.Rubber keeps it from sliding.

The balls can come loose from the others a little too easily.Takes a bit long to screw on and off.Could be a little bit cheaper.A little stiff the first time i bend it after it has not been in use for a while.
Overall:
It's a great buy if you want to have the ability to take photos from many new places, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money on the Gorillapod.

Very sturdy, holds the D90 plus my 18-105 lens no problems. It's slightly stiff but that's okay, probably needs to be to stay so strong.
Cons:
I wish the little feet had little rubber pads or something on them to stop them slipping, and also it would be good if the part that screws to the bottom of your camera could be removed from the tripod.
Overall:
Given that the Gorillapod costs about $95 or so in retail stores, this is an excellent knock off. I would use it with confidence and recommend to my friends.

A very sturdy clone, it can stand my D90+35mm without any kind of problem, have not tried with any other lens but it's probably best to use a compact tripod with a compact lens.
Cons:
The articulations are a little stiff, although I bet it's one of the reasons the tripod is so sturdy.
Overall:
Highly recommended, can hold a dslr with a compact lens without any kind of problem, and best of all, it's very cheap.

The description says that it can withstand 3 kg of weight. My SLR canon 30d + 28-135, together weigh 1300 - 1500 grams. This is 2 times less than stated in the description. But he does not hold the weight, the tripod starts to sag under the weight of the camera and falls along with it If you tie it shtutivom to a stick, he keeps it, but I can tie and a rope, and I need a tripod. Gum is very solid.
Overall:
For a compact camera is a good choice, having no functional limitations. For the money a few times smaller than a firm stand.
