I love these lights. Very bright and great for outdoors. Bought these last year and getting more. I decorate a stand alone Christmas tree along the highway using a car battery and photovoltaic panel to recharge the battery in the daytime. A good hobby electrician can rig a circuit with a SPDT relay, diode and something like a single LED to drain off the PV residual charge. Works fantastic and makes lots of people smile.
Cons:
The wires are pretty lightweight. This is NOT an industrial strength set but great for the money.
Overall:
Do I like these? I'm at 21 sets and counting.

They are nice and bright and switch through all three colors. Works with 1.2v and 1.5v no problem.The LEDs are wrapped and could be weather proof as it says in the description.
Cons:
There is no on switch. There is only flash and off. The steady on position on the switch isn't even soldered to anything.Light tend to blink really fast. A slow transition would be nice.Cables are really thin.

Cool little light set, each LED is multi-color, flashes through various shades. They have some sort of circuitry in them which starts out with them all in sync and very quickly they all get out of sync.Their best use to my mind is to dump the crappy battery holder and attach them to a USB cable. Then you have festive lights for your desk!There's a resistor in the battery box, extract that intact (it's hot-glued in place, so warm the glue) and wire the resistor to the black (gnd) wire, the other one to the red.
Cons:
Battery box is junk. I had to bend connectors etc. to get mine to work properly. I can't imagine it would stand too many changes of batteries.The flashing pattern is a bit manic - I'd like it to be slowed down.
Overall:
Nice lights - glad I have them, especially now they're USB powered.

- Various flashing patterns it cycles through.- Red/ green/ blue (3 die) LED's which will output red, green and blue and a mixture of the colours.- Heat shrink around where the LED is soldered to the wire.- Runs of 3xAA batteries.- Compartment door seems pretty strong, unlike what other reviews said.- On/off switch.- Colours don't cycle through to eachother at the same time on all LEDs (could be a con for some).- Good value!
Cons:
- The on/off switch has 'On/ Flash/ Off' written next to it, when in fact there are only two settings- random flash, off. It wasn't much of a con for me though.

If you need some christmas lights/flashing LED lights then these are worth getting if you want them battery powered.

they take batteries but if you use rechargable ones your sorted,they just take 3 pencil batteries,there is nothing conning about this product
