- does what it is designed for, and it does it very well!- I have found the iGO 8.3 software very suitable to my needs- easy installation of additional maps (europe)- lots of extra functions (bluetooth, multimedia player), which really work- nice aluminium design, looks quite durable- you can easily jump into native WinCE environment and do whatever you need there

- the FM transmitter does not transmit bluetooth sounds- passive car holder (the power supply cable may be a bit annoying when driving), but it's no issue for the money...

I've ordered this device in the beginning of 2009 and it still works with no major issues.- it has really nice aluminum casing- it works fast enough- it tracks satellites in difficult conditions, say, in a densely built-up areas where my Samsung i900 loses GPS-signal- the screen is of a quite good quality, I'd give it 4/5 for view angle and 3.5/5 for its sensitivity.- it really accepts SDHC- iGO 8.3 runs on it almost flawlessly- agree with previous reviewer - WinCE is definitely also a pro- may be something else I've forgotten :)

Almost none for me. Perhaps battery lifetime should be slightly better, this may be important to those, who don't use it mainly in a car.FM-transmitter isn't perfect, but I've tested it only out of curiosity - I've never had a need for such a device or function.

it had stopped working after about a week of use. it wouldnt turn on no matter what. i eventually left it for dead till i got feed up one day and punched it(anger issues, what can i say ^^) and it came on right away with no problems scene then.

other then the fact it has a small dent on the back of it scene i "fixed it" its a great little gizmo. i would recommend to anyone to get one if your looking for a good gps

One of the best non-branded GPS device i've ever owned!It's small, very light, screen is clear and bright, WinCE, supports MOST GPS softwares.I've used this little device with iGo8 with TTS enabled and i have no problem at all.Supports SDHC, i'm using 8G microSD at the moment, which gives you a lot of space for your MP3 and movies.Build quality is very good. I like the brushed aluminum finish.
Cons:
Windscreen mount is a bit flaky.Car charger usb is not right-angled as per picture.Battery is a bit short, i can only get 30 mins of DivX with the brightest screen.FM Transmitter isn't the best quality, you get noise.Bluetooth is working fine, but doesn't have a very good range.The only big con i have with this unit is that it interfere with my FM radio, even when it's off/sleep.
Overall:
Very nice little unit at a very reasonable price.I'm getting the 5" version of this for my other car :)

I found the right map through dx forum. gps works even the map was old. Thinking to get a new one.Video functions works with my colection of various video formats. so do the other functions (music, ebook, bluetooth, radio transmission). I have tested them: the bluetooth on my sony w810, the radio on my car radio (sound quality was not bad). The 2 funtions worked.the sound quality (through the in-built speaker and the supplied earphone) was satisfactory, you would not expect much from this unit.I have not tested the vid in. still waiting for my ordered 2.5mm video jack. I heard that it showed the photo/video when correct connection was made.i did not peel the protection thin film on the lcd to protect it.Battery lasts about 30 minutes when used as video player

no case to carry around. I would buy a case that looks like a wallet (similar to DE's Iphone) if DE has it. I used my existing small Hard disk leather case for this unit, but it did not fit well!my earphone jack (2.5 mm) did not work properly. you hear either left or right side. sometimes it just has no sound (in fact sound goes to the speaker of the gps unit) I had to jiggle the jack to hear the sound on both ears, which is inconvenient especially when you drive.sound on the gps speaker is a bit low.
Overall:
it is cheaper than an Ipod nano but does more.If you want a cheap/working gps and multimedia player and do not mind about the brand name, this unit is for you

It's large, bright screen make it very easy to see both in daytime and at night. The speaker is clear and perfectly understandable. The added features like the games and videos are a good plus when you are waiting for someone.
Cons:
The negatives of this unit are pretty important to me, since I wanted this unit to be great so badly.First, the hands-free bluetooth dialer and speakerphone are a great idea for one of these, but the pinhole microphone is all but ineffective. It makes you sound like you are talking from another car that is driving by the car with this unit.Second, the battery life is quite disappointing. The fact that it uses Windows CE would be an awesome feature if you could use it away from the car, but the battery only has a lifespan of about 20 minutes whereas my older Garmin has a 4 hour lifespan.Last and most important to me, when it is in use (even with the FM transmitter disabled) this unit blocks all FM radio stations that are more than 20 miles away. This tells me that this unit is unshielded and because of that could never qualify for FCC approval. This is quite the shame, DE has always sold things of much better quality than this.
Overall:
If you are wanting a GPS unit for a motorcycle or a boat where you probably won't use an FM radio or only like AM stations then this is the unit for you.
