If you have a stubborn grandparent who is understandably concerned about spending hundreds/thousands of dollars on a hearing aid they don't think they need, this is a fantasticly convincing tool. It also seems to be helpful in determining exactly what sort of hearing aid will work best without spending the big bucks on a custom-tuned device. My grandmother wants to continue using this permanently, without buying an expensive model. I've tested it myself and I can see no problem with that - audio quality is quite good.
Cons:
I am uncertain as to how an audiologist would react to long-term use of this thing. It may be detrimental long-term.
Overall:
A competent generic hearing aid that seems to be fine for day-to-day use! Sound quality is good, fit is great, build quality is great. This is more than a worthwhile investment, even as just a back-up device!

- Powerfull amplification.- Good battery life.- Build quality seems OK, almoust month of use and it still works fine even if I carry it bare in my pocket.- comes with a strong box- even in a club with loud music and heavy beats around I could hear what my friend cheep.
Cons:
- comes only with two sized earbuds and smaller one is way too big for me. Bigger one probably won't fit human :D- on/off knob requires a decent force to be pushed on/off. Volume dial could be better too.

Cons:
I can tolerate the bulkiness, but the gold ring around the earpiece is ugly (and visible). The silicone ear adapters are shaped in a way that is not that comfortable nor easy to insert properly, especially with my small ear canals -- even using the smallest adapter. And most importantly, the sound quality is not acceptable: it's very heavy on treble, and it amplifies the quietest background noises (like a fan blowing) so much that the important sounds are masked -- and there is no way to adjust any sort of EQ.
Overall:
Unfortunately, this did not help my hearing in the way I needed it to, so it's sitting unused. Might work for people with significantly diminished detection in the upper frequencies, but not for me with only a slight dip around 2 kHz.

Search this site by "hearing aid" keywords and you'll find "4-Mode Syrinx Hearing Aid/Voice Amplifier (1*AG13)" for $10.55. I bought both items and want to say with all responsibility - IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME hearing aids. The only difference is packing box (this one got "more rich" pseudo-velvet one). Even the manuals are the same for the last comma!So why should you pay almost $3 more for the same thing? Be warned!
Overall:
This model (I mean its' "twin" for $10.55 I'm talking about above) is not so bad if you keep in mind the price.

Definitely cost. Much better than going through your insurance. This is for my grandmother. She's 86 years old and will run circles around most of my friends. Her hearing loss is intermittent so it made no sense to purchase a higher end hearing aid.The one I received actually came with two batteries.

None really. The newest generation of hearing aids are probably a little cleaner sounding.
Overall:
This is a great product if you need a hearing aid and don't want to/can't spend the money on a hearing aid from the doctor.

This is what my grandma had to say about it:Unfortunately hisses constantly and amplifies too much background noise so like if you drop something on the bench she jumps out of her skin or cutting bread sounds like sawing wood , when walking pant legs rubbing quite loud and then when talking you can have a conversation with yourself.So it seems we need to find one with a sound processor & directional mic.
Overall:
give it a go.. other people seem to like it.grandma didn't enjoy the experience at all.
