I bought this one together with a green laser pointer.The red one is more usefull: it's hard to use a green laser inside a room, since it's too bright. The red one is more soft, easier to see, don't distract your audience.
Cons:
Could be brighter, but I think all the red lasers have a small bright excepct you buy a very powerfullone (more miliwatts)
Overall:
I'm looking for other laser pointers, more powerfull.But I have this one in my desk, I don't wanna get cought in surprise to make a presentation and have to improvise with a ruller...

We gave this to my brother in law who is both 30 and 7 years old at the same time. He thinks its brilliant, and both their cats have lost weight due to alll the exercise chasing the light.The pen form factor and clip work nicely.
Cons:
The threads are a bit raw from manufacturing, but a brush and a light oil fixed that. I'd be worried about triggering the push-button switch and wasting the batteries.
Overall:
Seems fine - cheap enough at this price so you can't really complain.

- well built, probably the best build quality of all gadgets I've got from DE so far- uses AAA batteries, so you can easily find a replacement when you're out of energy (I've bought two rechargeable AAA batteries for use in the pointer)
Cons:
- the inner space (the battery housing) could have had slightly larger diameter, I've experienced that one of my batteries got slightly stuck in there and getting it out was anything but easy- the laser diode should have been located on the other end (not on the same and where the clip is) - for safety reasons (I can imagine one can put it e. g. in a pocket of shirt and then the laser part aims upwards to the face)- the beam could have been somewhat better focused, but this doesn't have such a big importance for me because of the price (and, well, it would only give me a better distance where the spot would still be visible when playing with it - "how-far-it-can-beam" :)
Overall:
When you're looking for a red laser pointer with a good price, go for it. The bonus is that it uses AAA batteries which should result in longer battery life and in a good price/life ratio). However, someone could probably prefer a smaller and lighter pointer, but for me the size of this one is perfectly OK.

First of all, i think it's more than 5mW, i think it's like 10mW or so, it's brighter than all 5mW i own and as bright as a 10mW. Definitely worth buying, the price is great and it uses AAA batteries so you don't have to worry about this thing.
Cons:
The button is quite hard to press and i think it'll become even more hard to use.. But i think if you're buying this you don't imagine it'll last for ever, it's just another cheap but fun laser..
Overall:
Buy more and give to your friends! Or just resell them... In here these are much more expensive and you could easily resell them for 2x,3x the price. (Romania)

Awesomely inexpensive. Mine is surprisingly bright (as bright as my 5mw greenie). Decent quality especially considering the price. Relativly good dot (few artifacts). Uses aaa batteries. Decent button

No batteries or case (haha not at 3 bucks). Not as heavy as my greenies or purple. No laser warning stickers (not a con to me but might cause problems at customs or such)

I own greenies and a purple and needed a red to round out the collection. I know some people have had problems with these but I'm thrilled. Can't wait till it gets dark to play with this on the trees across the yard

Well, I thought getting a cheap AAA laser in a pen form factor would be good. Maybe I would've been happier if I could have made it work in the first place - yes, mine was unusable out of the box because it was slightly bent in the middle. Why? Because it wasn't packaged in anything (like a box or something, just some plastic bubble wrap). Obviously it was impacted by something heavy in transit and it got bent to the point I couldn't insert any batteries in it. Anyway, I broke open the pen and took out the circuit/driver and diode and have it with me for use on a PCB.
Overall:
Since you can "rescue" the assembly from the inside, I have no complaints and got my money's worth back. Although it would be way better if DE ships it in something that can withstand shock/impact. If this happens to you, invoke the RMA/CSE (Customer Service Express) process on DE and they'll help out. Just send them a couple of pics of your broken item and packaging and you'll get a proper response in a couple of days. I didn't know about this service so didn't opt for it then, would surely do now.
