The original cable that came with my iphone 3G broke (it still works, but you can see the shielding) so i ordered this one. It came in a handy zipper bag, and it's working fine. Build quality seems to be better than the original (bear in mind, I only have it for a month, so i can't tell if the plastic will wear.)
Cons:
None, it's absolutely fine. It doesn't feel quite like the original, but first things first: who cares, and also, we've already established the original one is crap.
Overall:
If you need a replacement cable for your iPhone, search no more, this one is good.

I bought 2 of these cables back in Dec 2009. Well, it's been more than six months and they are still in Excellent condition. I use both on a daily basis (one stays at home for synching and overnight charging; the other one is in my purse at all time - to be used in the office/car). I'm quite impressed with the quality of these cables. Very sturdy.

It is cheap.It stays in the socket because of the little hooks.You can feel the difference between the front and back side, making it easier to plug in in the dark than the Apple cables.

The build quality sucks. I have been using it for about a month now, only connecting it to my iPhone very gently, and now it just refuses to work. No charging, no data, nothing.Maybe it was because I put it in a bag ONCE, rolling it up less tightly than the original packaging had, that broke it, but you'd expect it would be able to handle that.
Overall:
Don't bother buying these. They will break in a matter of weeks, even when you use it very very carefully.

It works to sync on the Mac, and also with my iPhone charger. Material quality is top notch. This cable only differs from the original in a few respects; The plastic casing for the connector to the phone is slightly larger than the orignal. Likewise the cable is about 5 cm. longer than the original. The phone plug fits very snugly.
Cons:
When removing the phone plug / jack, be careful to gently wriggle it from side to side. It DOES fit rather tightly in the bottom of the phone. (Not a major 'gripe', though!)
Overall:
Good value for the money, and it might even be worth getting more than one of these (only if you are one who tends to lose things). This product looks like it will last quite a long time, even with very frequent use.

I had lost my old cable and this one is cheap and looks great. Even better than the original Apple cable. When ipod plugged in, picks up quickly with no delays. Fits Ipod Nano and Touch.

Very good cable. Fits perfectly to my iPhone 3G. Build quality looks better than my original apple iPhone data/charging cable. Had no problems, while charging or syncing. Bigger connector than on the original cable, and its easier to connect or disconnect it with iPhone.
Cons:
Not really cons, but differences from the original product. A little bit whiter (i can't image how something can be wither than apples products :) ). Connector locks in iPhone, so you have to push connector sides to unlock it from iphone.

It works as it is supposed to be - charging and syncing through it has been without any problem.I have just updated firmware 3.1.3 through it.

Definitely does not look like the original cable, but that is exactly the reason why I bought it. I do not want my original to get mixed up with a compatible which I cannot identify.You need to press the two buttons on the sides before you can unplug the cable from your device. It might still not be a con afterall though.
